Do srs business first, before you start working on comics. I started with manga before realism, which smothered my style. There is not enough classics fan art, so go for it!
And 100 themes is always good.

And classics are a good thing to practice realism with, because there's generally statues and stuff you can sketch from if you want. Whoo!

Yepyepyep, I go to the Metropolitan museum every weekend to sketch Greek and Roman classic (
Head: What if I end up not being able to draw feet and legs and hips for the rest of my life? What if I am doomed to draw adorable kitty :3 faces the rest of my life? Mustworkharder mustworkharder.
I also tend to believe that classics are in certain ways more interesting than modern art. Just because they had different limitations and standards.
